Top Trends of 2015 for the Real Mom – Gingham
Can you believe we’ve reached the final week in our series The Top Fashion Trends of 2015 for the Real Mom? Five weeks have flown by! This week we’ll show you how to take gingham and rock it out! We looked for gingham at 4 different stores before finding anything…I thought this was a trend…that means it should be EVERYWHERE!! But then, we found New York and Co., and we hit the mother lode of gingham! The only problem we faced was the lack of color; black and white gingham seemed to be the popular choice. To make this trend work for the “Real Mom”, we had to add some pops of color! Here’s how we styled it:
I fell in love with these yellow shorts, wedges, and blazer! They scream DATE NIGHT!!! They would also work great for a night out on the town with the girls; they literally inspired me to think about buying plane tickets to NYC, just so I could walk the sidewalk in these bad boys! I love how Tiffany took the same gingham blazer to casual glam by throwing on a boyfriend jean, but keeping the patent black wedges! I must say the accessories in each of these looks are spot on, they pulled everything together. Don’t underestimate the power of a great accessory to finish an outfit. I’m also going to venture out and say, these gingham blazers make up two of my favorite outfits we’ve put together! Seriously the BEST!!
Gingham Look #2
In our second looks all about gingham and color, we kept the same patent wedges, because they were just that fabulous! Tiffany pulled out the most adorable purple shorts paired with a gingham shirt. We loved the ruffle on this shirt; a great tip for wearing a shirt like this is to keep your accessories simple! It’s best to do a great earring and some bracelets, so you don’t compete with the details. Now for my look, I found the most flattering gingham dress. It has a small pattern to the outside and larger pattern to the inside, giving the illusion that I’m 10 lbs. thinner!! Ummm…who doesn’t love that! I paired the dress with a great hot pink cardigan, and brought in the waste line with a belt. I love a belted cardigan these days; it has become a staple in my wardrobe. It’s all about drawing the eye to your thinnest part!
So do you love Gingham? Which of these looks is your favorite?
